After a hugely successful debut, the Art of Norwich is returning
for a second show of 2007. An open-mic fortnight for artists,
this exhibition retains it's philosophy of zero selection, allowing
the artists to express themselves as they choose without being
encaged by discrimination.
The first "Art of Norwich" show held in September managed
to attract record attendance to St Margarets Church, which is
now a regular arts venue. There will be a cornucopia of visual
delights demonstrating the work of the best and brightest creative
minds of Norwich.
Art of Norwich organiser, Ruski, explains their philosophy: "Many
galleries and exhibitions are quite selective about the work that
they are willing to show. Although this may ensure a certain standard
of quality, in my opinion, such judgement is entirely subjective
and "in the eye of the beholder". I personally feel
that artists work best when they are free to spread the wings
of their imagination and express themselves as they choose. Even
if there is "bad" artwork on show, this will just make
the "good" artwork look better"
