"Artists of Norwich Open their Minds to the World"
The diverse talents of the artists of Norwich are
being brought together to show their creations to the public. After
staging two highly acclaimed shows last year, the first "Art
Of Norwich" exhibition of 2008 is to be held at St Margarets
Church, St Benedicts Street for two weeks between the 7th-19th April.
Providing an "Open-Mic" fortnight for artists,
to create a "Pay & Display" art-park, this exhibition
aims to be open and inclusive to artists of all styles and backgrounds.
Through operating a zero-selection policy, they hope to encourage
and nurture the quixotic impulses that will provide a colourful
spectacle to delight and inspire the imagination of our visitors.
The organiser of this show, Ruski, explains 'It is
a pleasure to be able to bring this opportunity to the fresh budding
talents that are ever emerging in our fine city. As an artist myself,
I have personal experience of the difficulties that face creative
individuals in bringing their work to the eyes of the public. Creating
a quality piece of artwork is only a fraction of the battle, particularly
for those artists with limited resources. Finding decent exhibition
space without it breaking the bank is rarely as easy as it should
be. Working on a non-profit basis, the "Art of Norwich"
aims to help provide a cost-effective solution to this perennial
problem.'
